aircraft mechanic

A person who repairs and/or maintains an aircraft. An aircraft mechanic must have an aviation mechanic certificate duly issued by a national aviation regulatory authority, such as the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration [USA]) or the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority [UK]).
